KAF International Clinic cooperates with partners from Iraq - professional traumatologists who specialize in hip and knee replacement, fracture treatment, knee and shoulder arthroscopy and other procedures.

Arthroscopy of the knee joint
Knee joint arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows doctors to view and treat problems in the knee joint. During the hour of surgery, an arthroscope is inserted into the knee through a small incision on the skin - a thin tube with a camera that transmits images of the inner parts of the knee to the screen. This allows the doctor to take care of the formation of cartilage, ligaments and other structures, as well as perform necessary medical manipulations, such as removing a piece of damaged cartilage or reducing inflammation textile Knee arthroscopy is often used to diagnose and treat injuries, arthritis and other conditions that may cause pain and laxity. The patient's procedures are increasingly being updated and are being turned to an active way of life.
When it is necessary to perform arthroscopy of the knee joint
The doctor recommends arthroscopy in cases where conservative treatment is ineffective or impossible. This operation is essential for the treatment of the knee, shoulder, and ankle joints.
Colonic arthroscopy is carried out for the diagnosis and treatment of the following pathologies of the knee joint:
knee injuries,
arthrosis chi arthritis,
rupture or damage to the anterior / or posterior cruciform ligament,
dislocation or instability of the kneecap,
damage to the synovial membrane,
wear of cartilage tissue, leading to the destruction of cartilage,
meniscal cyst,
chronic fire in the area of the droop,
the presence of roots, growths, fragments of brush in the dry area.
Arthroscopy can also be used when performing a biopsy.
Knee arthroscopy performed at KAFinternational
Before performing arthroscopy of the knee joint, it is necessary to perform a series of tests to identify associated pathologies. The doctor may perform an ECG and additional blood tests and tests. The week before handing over the varto, turn off alcohol consumption. The remaining dose should be taken 6 years before the operation and, better yet, it will be easy for the patient.
How to undergo the operation
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia. After being put into medicated sleep, the orthopedic traumatologist denies access to the knee. The anterior approach is most often used. You can use the lower lateral, lower medial or upper lateral access. In this case, three punctures are made for the arthroscope, instrumentation and access at the upper part of the angle. When there is a need to remove the synovial membrane or the posterior horn of the meniscus, as well as in case of reconstruction of the posterior cruciform ligament, a posterior approach (posterior internal or posterior external). There are 8 points in total, through which you can gain the necessary access.

Treatment of fractures and dislocations depends on their type, location, and severity. The following are the basic principles of treatment:
Treatment of fractures
1. First aid:
- Rest the injured limb.
- Apply cold to reduce swelling and pain.
- Immobilize the limb with a splint or other support.
- Seek medical attention.
2. Diagnosis:
- X-ray, CT, or MRI to determine the type of fracture.
3. Basic treatment:
- Conservative treatment (for uncomplicated fractures):
- Applying a plaster cast or using a brace.
- Painkillers (e.g., ibuprofen, paracetamol).
- Surgical treatment (for complex fractures):
- Osteosynthesis (fixation of fragments with screws, plates, or pins).
- Application of the Ilizarov apparatus (for complex fractures).
4. Rehabilitation:
- Physiotherapy (magnetotherapy, electrophoresis).
- Physical therapy (physical therapy) to restore mobility.
- Massage and joint development
Treatment of dislocations
1. First aid:
- Do not try to fix the dislocation yourself.
- Fix the limb in the position it is in.
- Apply cold to reduce swelling.
- See a doctor.
2. Diagnostics:
- X-ray or MRI to confirm the dislocation and exclude a fracture.
3. Basic treatment:
- Fixation of the dislocation (performed only by a doctor under local or general anesthesia).
- Applying a fixing bandage or plaster for several weeks.
- Painkillers (e.g. ketorolac, diclofenac).
4. Rehabilitation:
- Physiotherapy to improve blood circulation and tissue repair.
- Exercise therapy to strengthen muscles and ligaments.
- Gradual return to physical activity.
General recommendations
- Follow all doctor's instructions.
- Do not put weight on the injured limb until it is fully healed.
- If you experience severe pain, swelling or numbness, consult a doctor.
If you suspect a fracture or dislocation, be sure to seek medical attention! Self-medication can lead to complications.

Why is pelvic fracture surgery important?
Pelvic fractures are serious injuries that can occur as a result of road traffic accidents, falls from heights, or sports injuries. Due to the complex anatomy of the pelvis, such fractures require careful surgical intervention to ensure restoration of function and avoid complications such as:

Treatment of hallux valgus deformity
Hallux valgus (valgus deformity of the first toe) is one of the most common foot deformities, which occurs mainly in women of different age groups. Due to chronic violations of the biomechanics of the foot, changes occur in the first metatarsophalangeal joint, as a result of which the first toe is displaced from its normal position and deviates outwards. Over time, there is a risk of concomitant deformations of other toes, which indicates the complexity of the problem and requires special attention.
The formation of visual changes, often called "bone", is a reaction of the bone and cartilage tissue to a violation of the ratio of the articular surfaces due to valgusization of the first toe. The head of the metatarsal bone in the joint is displaced from its physiological position, which, combined with excessive friction and pressure from shoes, leads to the start of the arthrosis process. This may be accompanied by swelling, pain and limited mobility. Thus, a painful protrusion grows in the joint area, which is called an exostosis or bunion, and is one of the symptoms of hallux valgus.
The deformity may remain painless for some time, so in the early stages it is often considered a cosmetic rather than a medical problem. However, as the bone grows and the affected area increases, pain appears, which forces the patient to consult a doctor. Due to the pain syndrome, gait disturbance often occurs, which negatively affects other joints of the lower extremities.
Methods of treating hallux valgus deformity
1. Conservative treatment:
- Orthopedic devices: Using special inserts, orthoses or bandages to correct the position of the finger and reduce the load on the joint.
- Comfortable shoes: Choosing shoes with a wide toe and soft soles to reduce pressure on the "bone".
- Physiotherapy: Massage, therapeutic exercises and other methods to improve muscle tone and joint mobility.
- Medication: Anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs to relieve symptoms.
2. Surgical treatment:
- Osteotomy: Surgical removal of part of the bone to restore the correct position of the finger.
- Arthrodesis: Fixation of the joint in the correct position.
- Exostosis resection: Removal of the "bone" to relieve pain and restore foot function.
3. Rehabilitation:
- After surgery, a course of physiotherapy and exercise therapy is prescribed to restore mobility and function of the foot.
- Recommendations for choosing shoes and lifestyle to prevent relapses.
Prevention of hallux valgus deformity
- Wearing comfortable shoes with low heels and wide toes.
- Regularly perform exercises to strengthen the muscles of the foot.
- Weight control to reduce the load on the feet.
- Timely consultation with a doctor at the first symptoms of deformity.
Hallux valgus deformity of the foot is a serious problem that requires a comprehensive approach to treatment. Conservative methods are effective in the early stages, but in cases of significant deformity, surgical intervention may be required.
